The first church on Martha’s Vineyard, the Federated Church was founded in 1642 and has been an active, vital part of the Vineyard community ever since.  Although we are a church with a long and abundant heritage, we are not people stuck in the past!  Our rich history informs our present commitment which enables us to have a vision for Christ’s church in this time and place.  As a church we value every generation and strive to include all people in our worship and program.  

Guided by the Holy Spirit, we look forward to the future which draws us ever onward in worship, work and mission together.  The church at work and play embodies the life which Christ envisioned for us.  This congregation is a caring and supporting community as its people gather to worship and then go into the world to live out their calling as God’s people.
