What is Planned Giving?
Very simply, Planned Giving offers the means by which a charitably motivated individual or family, may provide a gift to the charitable institution (i.e., the Federated Church) of his, her, or its choice upon the death of the giver or during life for the benefit of both the giver and the charity.
Simple examples are: an amendment (or a codicil) to one's existing will; a change of beneficiary for a portion of the proceeds of an existing life insurance policy; by naming Federated Church the beneficiary of your IRA; or by transfer of a highly appreciated non income producing asset or property to avoid long term capital gains taxation and enjoy a generous fixed income of 5.5% to 11% for life.
A number of Federated Church members have already made such provisions, and we sincerely hpoe that every church member will give this subject prayerful consideration.
Why think of this now? We are in the midst of one of the most expensive repair projects in the church's history! How much easier it would have been had our church enjoyed a substantial endowment on which to draw. Planned Giving offers us the opportunity to create a meaningful endowment over the next 25, 50, or even 100 years.
For a private and confidential discussion of how this idea might benefit both you and the Federated Church, please call the church office at 508-627-4421 for more information.
